Mandisa the American Idol and Grammy Award winning singer has died at the Age of 47.
Mandisa got her break from season 5 of American Idol as a Contestant. She won the Grammy Award for her album ” Overcomer (2013) “.
Mandisa’s representative told The AP that Singer was found dead in her home on Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee. The cause of death was unknown.
Mandisa’s full name is Mandisa Lynn Hundley was born on 2nd October 1976 in Citrus Heights, California, United States .
She completed her graduation from EI Camino Fundamental High School . After that she joined a American River College in Sacramento.
Then She joined Fisk University in Tennessee and gained Bachelor of Music Degree with Concentration in Vocal Performance.
She got auditioned in American Idol in Chicago in 2005. She referred ownself as Just Mandisa .
The Grammy Award winning singer participated in season 5;of American Idol in 2006, finishing in 9th place.
After eliminated from American Idol show, she performed on the song “I Don’t Hurt Anymore” on the TV talk show Live with Regis and Kelly.
Her records got 3 time nomination for Grammy Award including 2007’s True Beauty, 2009’s Freedom and 2011’s What If We were Real.
Many famous collaborators over the years praised the singer for her talent and generosity both on stage and off including Jordan Feliz, TobyMac, Kirk Franklin ,Michael W. Smith and Matthew West .
Mandisa went on to praise the meaningful connections she has among her diverse friendship group.
“During my life I’ve been drawn into friendships with all types of people — some very different from me,” said Mandisa. “My tribe has included men, women, single people, married people with kids, millennials, more ‘seasoned’ folks, and every age in between. … You learn so much and become a richer person by surrounding yourself with people who are different from you. As I’ve walked through hard things in my life, I’ve sometimes been surprised by the people God has used to comfort and help me. At times I get to be there for them too. That’s what it’s all about.”
